Without the permission of polygamy, Malaysian MPs imprisoned


Kuala Lumpur - East tuft Court sentenced Kinabatangan MP Datuk Bung Mokhtar Radin one month in jail and fined RM1, 000 or equivalent to Rp 2.8 million for committing polygamy without permission of the court and his first wife. He married a second wife Zizie Izette Abdul Samad.


While Zizie also fined RM1.000 or USD 2.8 million and jail for being negligent married a month regardless of Sharia law.

Syariah Judge Wan Muhammad Wan Mahyuddin issued a verdict today after listening to the demands of both the prosecutor and defense yesterday.

Bung Mokhtar, 51, was charged with committing an offense with Zizie, 31 years old, in the house No 12, Jalan TC2B / 3 Cemerlang Heights, Taman Melati, tuft at 8:50 pm, December 16 last year. He was deemed to violate Chapter 124 Laws of Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) No. 2 of 2003, which fined a maximum of USD 2.8 million or imprisonment of less than six months or both.

While Zizie also charged with violating Section 40 (2) in the same case that Bung Mokhtar marry without the consent of the Registrar of Marriage, Divorce, and Reconciliation in place, time, and the same dates.


In addition, Zizie also accused of conspiring with Bung Mokhtar to conduct polygamous marriages without court approval. Similarly, the Bung Mokhtar Zizie conspiring to marry without court permission pocketing.

Therefore, the court indicted both partners for any violation of Chapter 134 of Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) No. 2 In 2003 the two defendants sentenced to a fine of Rp 2.8 million and confinement in jail not more than six months.
